TDC Volunteer Positions

Registration: Duties include setting up the tables to prepare for Drivers to check-in. This person would assist by checking Drivers, verifying their name badge is correct, and directing them where to go.

Test proctor: This person will be in charge of proctoring the written exam, and maintaining a silent test environment. You will be required to announce to drivers that they may not bring any personal belongings in while taking the test, this includes their phone, coats, and ball caps.

Squad Leaders: This person is in charge of their respective competition class. They will travel with competitors throughout the day to ensure the drivers make it to the written test, pre-trip, and starting line. They will answer any questions and provide instruction.

Score runner: Collect completed score sheet from the score keepers at the end of the course and run them to the scoring professionals for input into the scoring program.

Equipment handler: This job requires a current CDL. The duties include moving the equipment as needed under the direction of the TDC Chairman and his assigned helpers.

Pre-trip: This volunteer position includes using a stopwatch while the Driver completes his/her Pre-Trip Inspection. The position requires communication with the driver and inspector about the time limits and style of inspection being performed. 

Timers: This person drives a golf cart behind the driver and times the drivers course run.

Score keepers: This person rides in the golf cart and hand judges score sheet at each course station.

Starting Line: Those at the starting line will check driver name badges for the correct driver and tell the driver when to begin.
